Helen Haugh on ‘community enterprise’

Helen Haugh, Senior Lecturer, Cambridge Judge Business School

When we think about social entrepreneurs & social entrepreneurship, it’s about an individually motivated organization that is being setup.

Community led social enterprises are led and managed by the community in which the enterprise is based.

Members of the community, to get them involved and to work with the community so that the community identifies what it wants to achieve and sets up an organization and processes and practices that will enable community to be consistently involved in the way that organization is set up and managed. That is, there is close engagement between community and organization.

This blog post is based on my learnings from the course on ‘social entrepreneurship’ offered by Copenhagen Business School through Coursera (2014).
