Who is a Social Entrepreneur?

Who is a social entrepreneur?

Johanna Mair and Ernesto Noboa have suggested a model. They argue that people need two things to be a social entrepreneur:

1. Perceived desirability: It is the wish to become a social entrepreneur. It is based on empathy.
2. Perceived feasibility: It is the belief that one can actually succeed as a social entrepreneur.

Social entrepreneurs have empathy for disenfranchised people.

Social entrepreneurs have a strong feeling of moral obligation towards disenfranchised people.

Social entrepreneurs have a strong sense of self-efficacy. This means that they believe in their own power to make change happen.

Social entrepreneurs tend to believe they will receive social support to start a social venture.

Well the society, the social cause is important so is the entrepreneurial zeal which is equally important. Both social and entrepreneurship part are equally important. It is necessary that social enterprise is financially sustainable.
